
Tate is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) whose passions include working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She received her bachelor’s degree, Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S) from Clemson University.
While in graduate school, Tate interned at Greenville Mental Health Center in their school-based program. She provided individual, family, and group counseling to children at Lakeview Middle School. Tate also interned at Clemson University’s Counseling and Psychological Services Department where she provided counseling services to the college population as they navigated life changes.
After receiving her master’s, Tate worked at Greenville Mental Health in their school-based program at Armstrong Elementary and Berea Middle School. She counseled children, adolescents, and families during her time there. She worked extensively with trauma and became trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Tate also worked at City Center Counseling Ministries, counseling individuals ranging from children to adults struggling with anxiety, depression, adjustment, and relationship issues.
Tate enjoys meeting clients where they are and creating a non-judgmental, empathetic environment in which clients can process through and work towards their hopes in life. She primarily operates from the Cognitive Behavioral and Person Centered Theories, always incorporating evidence-based practices. She is very strengths focused and is passionate about helping others grow in their awareness of their positive traits.
Tate and her husband live in Greenville, SC. Tate loves spending time with her friends and family, exploring the outdoors, reading, and running.
