Walter is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a desire to help and partner with a wide range of people from all walks of life.  He received a B.S. in psychology from Presbyterian College and a M.A. in professional counseling from Richmont Graduate University, where he specialized in working with children and adolescents.

Walter enjoys working with everyone, but has extensive background with college students, young adults, children, and teens.  He especially loves pre-marital and regular marital/family counseling, and is a certified Gottman Level 1 marital counselor.

He and his wife, Jane, live with their two dogs in Travelers Rest, where they love being close to the mountains, while also being able to hop on the Swamp Rabbit Trail for a run or bike ride.  Walter still considers himself a “former college athlete”, although these days that mainly looks like pulling for his beloved Liverpool “Football” Club.

His advice to people who are weighing the pros and cons of beginning counseling would be the same advice his graduate professor gave him the first week of grad school: “trust the process.  Give it a few weeks and see what God does with it.”
