Carolyn received her Master’s degree in Counseling from Huntington University’s Townsend Institute. During that time, she trained under Dr. John Townsend, a nationally recognized clinical psychologist and New York Times best-selling author. She also completed internship placements in several settings equipping her with a variety of effective treatment approaches. Prior to graduate school, Carolyn attended Cedarville University graduating with academic honors and was recognized by the Ohio Psychological Association for her undergraduate research in eating disorder characteristics among high school athletes. She also competed in Track & Field and Cross Country at Cedarville and contributed to the team’s success at the conference and national level.
Carolyn has worked in a variety of different settings including a community-based substance use disorder treatment program, a lay counseling program, and outpatient individual therapy practices. She has years of experience in private practice providing individual therapy for adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, life transitions, and depression. Carolyn also specializes in helping athletes with mental performance and body image concerns.
Beyond her clinical work, Carolyn has led mental performance workshops for runners and has previously served as the mental performance coach for a Division I collegiate Cross Country and Track & Field program. Additionally, she provides individual services to support athletes in improving their mental performance skills and developing a mindset that fosters excellence and resilience. Further, Carolyn has also been the lead writer and developer of two mental health curriculums for teens.
Carolyn works with clients to deepen self-awareness, translate insight into action, and cultivate the accountability needed for meaningful growth.
Carolyn’s love for running has created opportunities for her to compete at both the collegiate and professional level. Her husband is a former college teammate turned teammate for life.
