Clay is a board certified physician assistant licensed in the state of South Carolina. Clay received his master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies with honors from Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC. Since completing his studies, Clay has worked as a psychiatric physician assistant at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, SC. Clay's work at Self Regional has included extensive inpatient and outpatient care giving him experience working with a wide range of psychiatric illnesses. In 2024, he received his Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Psychiatry from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Prior to attending Presbyterian College, Clay received his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. There he met his wife while running on the cross country and track and field team. When not in the clinic, Clay enjoys spending time with his family, reading, running and being outdoors.

Clay specializes in working with adult clients, 18 years old and up who are challenged by mental health disorders including:

Do you accept insurance?
Clay is paneled with BlueCross BlueShield insurance. If you would like us to submit insurance claims on your behalf please enter your BCBS insurance information in your new client paperwork. If you are out of network we can provide a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company.

I am paneled with BCBS of South Carolina. If you are wanting us to submit insurance claims on your behalf please let our intake coordinator know when booking your initial appointment.
If you are out of network we can provide a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company.

If appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or there is a no show then the full session fee will be charged. Appointments canceled with more than 24 hours notice will not be subject to a charge.

In order to provide the best care for our patients, we require a follow up appointment to be scheduled before refills can be dispensed.
Due to the substantial amount of refill requests we receive, we will not always be able to respond once your request has been processed. Please check with your pharmacy prior to calling/emailing a second request.
Controlled substances are only able to be sent as a one month's supply electronically. Due to that, please email the office for refills when you are down to the last 5-7 days of medication. You are required to be seen every three months in order to receive refills for controlled substances.

If you have been notified a prior authorization is needed for a medication, please have your pharmacy fax over a rejection claim containing your insurance information. ·
Please note that once we submit a request, it can take your insurance company upwards of 5 business days to reply.

A minimum fee of $25.00 will be charged for all requests for letters/forms.

We always endeavor to reply to messages as soon as possible. For a quicker response, please do not call. We are able to respond to emails much more swiftly. Calls returned by your provider after hours or outside of an office visit are subject to charges at the discretion of the provider.
