Katie has her Bachelor of Arts from Clemson University and her Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. While in college, she gained experience in a private practice counseling setting by interning at Beth Riley Therapy. Katie also worked at Shannon Forest Christian School for two years, counseling female middle school and high school students. She worked as a therapist with City Center Counseling Ministries for three years before joining Greenville Counseling Associates in 2016.
Katie's passions include working with adolescent females (13+), young adult females, and adult females. She is especially passionate in the areas of anxiety, depression, body image, relationship issues, grief and loss, and adolescent adjustment challenges.
As a counselor, Katie seeks to provide a welcoming and encouraging environment where individuals can feel supported and safe while walking through life's challenges.
Katie has worked in a variety of settings, including youth ministry and a law office. She interned at Radius Church Lexington where she had the opportunity to lead bible studies, mentor young girls, and attend various educational workshops.
Katie believes true healing involves both addressing present symptoms and gently uncovering the root causes behind them. Together, we will work on practical tools to help you find relief from what you’re experiencing now, while also exploring deeper patterns that may be contributing to your struggles.
Katie uses a blend of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Radically Open DBT (RODBT). For clients who desire it, she also incorporates Christian counseling and biblical principles into the work together.
She takes a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing the connection between mind, body, and spirit. When appropriate, she may offer lifestyle-based support such as gentle movement, nourishment through food, and practical tools—including vitamins and supplements—that can support overall well-being.
Katie and her husband live in Greenville, SC and have four little girls. She loves spending time with family and friends, hiking, cooking, going on walks, mornings, worship music, and being at the beach. Some of her favorite things include French press coffee, sunshine, sourdough bread, podcasts, and cozy blankets.
It is one of the greatest honors of Katie’s life to walk alongside clients through their challenges and struggles. She strives to create a warm, supportive, and compassionate environment where you feel safe to be heard and understood.
